The 2017 Yamaha YFZ450R is a high-performance sport ATV engineered for aggressive trail riding and competitive track racing. Designed for experienced riders and enthusiasts, this race-ready quad pairs Yamaha’s proven powersports heritage with race-focused chassis and suspension engineering.
At the core of the YFZ450R is a 449cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke DOHC engine designed to deliver quick throttle response and robust power across a broad RPM range. Power is managed through a precise five-speed manual transmission, offering direct control for sprint racing and technical terrain.
Built with a lightweight aluminum frame and a forged aluminum swingarm, the chassis maximizes structural rigidity while minimizing overall weight for nimble handling. The independent double-wishbone front suspension and adjustable KYB piggyback shocks provide responsive damping and stability through rough corners and high-impact landings.
Equipped with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, the YFZ450R ensures consistent, reliable stopping power under aggressive riding conditions. Durable off-road tires mounted on robust rims deliver excellent traction across diverse off-road and motocross surfaces.
